First Friday at Brew Bank

We decided to try something new for the last First Friday in 2022 – we’ll be featuring the work of four different artists throughout December! Codi Miller-Scheef, Jackie Fox, and Jodee Jenson are returning, and we’re excited to introduce Mary Ratman for the first time at Brew Bank! Come meet all four wonderful ladies on First Friday!

Mary says: “My family and I left Ukraine one week after the war started in February 2022. After a long journey of traveling from Poland, Bulgaria, and Mexico, we came to join my aunt here in Topeka, Kansas. We are fortunate to have the support of Yana Ross and the TopCity Supports Ukrainians Group. We couldn’t be here without them. I like to make portraits along with landscapes. I get to create and share my vision of how I see the world. I started painting and drawing as a young child. I was in Art School in Ukraine for six years. it feels good to make people happy through my art. I would be delighted to create a commissioned portrait for you, and I love to do pets as well!”
