Joey Crofoot

March 15@7:00pm

Joey Crofoot 7-9 PM. $5 cover charge, cover charge includes $1 off a sandwich OR win a free sandwich.

Joey Crofoot composes with a harmonic palette all his own. With a penchant for grunge-inspired chord progressions, altered guitar tunings, and extended harmonies, he is a refreshingly modern take on the folk singer-songwriter. His lyrics and melodies are bittersweet, theatrical, and undeniably catchy. He is always willing to share his musical concepts and help burgeoning songwriters in bringing out their own creativity. He is hellbent on being the next installation of musical innovation out of Topeka, KS.

Joey Crofoot grew up in a musical family with his mother, uncles, and brothers playing a myriad of musical styles. Walking in his childhood home you were equally likely to hear Brahms, Stephen Stills, or Alice in Chains–sometimes all at once from different rooms. Crofoot was lucky enough to grow up with a grand piano in his bedroom that he played incessantly. Whether it was picking out stray movie themes, Iron Maiden riffs, or part of a sonata his mother was working on, he developed a capacity to freely play whatever music was in his head. After a brief teaching career, Joey Crofoot realized his true calling for music and spent a few years honing his craft before pursuing it full time. He started playing live shows, often changing the instrumentation of his music and playing with a large variety of local musicians. He quickly moved online with weekly recurring video series of himself learning lead licks, covers, and breaking down the anatomy of songs.

Crofoot currently resides in the Kansas City area and a spirit realm near you.
